FAQ

  • What is a preorder and how long will it take?
Preorders are items ordered early, before the final items are produced. Usually this is a doll that has been sculpted and has had samples made, but the full edition has not yet been created. Preorders can take from 2 to 6 months or even more to create and deliver. At first I made the dolls completely from start to finish myself, but because of health issues, I now have a casting company create the dolls for me using my hand sculpted dolls as a prototype. With production and shipping the finished edition to me, then quality checking and repackaging the individual dolls (sometimes also blushing and adding clothing and such), the time needed to make a quality product can take longer than originally planned. All estimates for preorders are literally estimates. I do my best to get them shipped to their new homes as soon as possible and sometimes that means that they are even home sooner than expected as well *woo hoo!* Love it when this happens! :)
  • Who makes these dolls and other products?
I opened my business in 2010 and lovingly dubbed it "The Mushroom Peddler" because of my love for whimsical things. Almost all of the items in The Mushroom Peddler's store are designed, created, sewed, printed, painted, drawn, and sculpted by myself. I hand-sculpt my dolls, then have the editions of my dolls cast by a casting company to save my hands from further damage (I have carpel tunnel issues from when I used to cast them all myself). I occasionally enlist the help of relatives or friends when I feel overwhelmed but I am usually doing it all myself :) I love fairies, mermaids, and cute critters, so my shop is full of them :) Few things are more satisfying for me than sculpting or painting something beautiful and sharing it with others. I am a proud mother of five beautiful children, the youngest at age 2. They are the light of my life. Wishing everyone the very best! Sarah B. Seiter aka: The Mushroom Peddler
  • Do you take commissions or do requests?
I often do take commissions, but it completely depends on how overwhelmed I am by my family activities and how full my commission list currently is. You are welcome to ask :) I will let you know if I can do it or not. Email me at TheMushroomPeddler@gmail.com to ask about this sort of thing.
  • Are you willing to be a guest at a convention?
I love it when I am asked to be a guest at conventions. I love to travel and to meet people :) I have been a guest at many conventions in the past. I have presented many classes and workshops, teaching things like: how to cast resin parts/make silicone molds, how to blush dolls with chalk pastels, how to make things for your dolls such as hats, and many more things. Please contact me at TheMushroomPeddler@gmail.com if you would like me to be a guest at your convention so we can discuss the options.
  • What is your return policy?
Because of the custom hand-made nature of my dolls and products, all sales are final. With that said, if you have an issue with your item, please let me know and I will do my best to help.
